I am sitting here ANXIOUSLY waiting to get my children back. Grandma & Pa were going to be here at 4pm but got delayed (not hard to do when getting 2 kids packed up to send off to college). So, I haven't seen my boys since Fri. afternoon and it is now 6:45pm on Sun and I miss them like crazy.
I guess I should backtrack a little. Brans and my wedding anniversary was last weekend (the 15th). But the grandparents weren't available to babysit that weekend. So we planned our celebration for this weekend. Branson's boss owns a cabin up Big Cottonwood Canyon, right next to Brighton ski resort. So Friday afternoon we drove up to Kaysville to drop the boys off and then up the canyon to the cabin.
We had a nice relaxing night, made wingers sticky fingers and jello cheesecake, which we ate out on the balcony. While were eating we saw a little family of mama deer and her two babies walk by. Then we went for a little walk looking at all the different cabins. There were some that looked like chalets from the swiss alps, ones that looked like hippy hangouts with a mural of a rainbow on the side and one that looked like it was built in 1905 with real wood shutters and a roof that looked like it might leak in 10 different places.
When it started to get dark we headed back to the cabin and got our swim suits on. The stars were out in force as we sat in the hottub and soaked it all in.
The next morning I wasn't feeling so great, got a yucky cold. But we ate breakfast and headed out anyway. We went to the Salt Lake Temple to do a session. It was so great! We sat in the celestial room and I saw all the couples waiting to get sealed and remembered that it was us in that very room waiting to start our little family. Sweet.
Then, we went to Rodizio to cash in a gift certificate we had got last Christmas. I ate entirely too much and thoroughly enjoyes myself. Later that evening we went and saw the new Batman movie. Over all it was a go go go day, but tons of fun!
The strangest part of the whole weekend, and when I felt the most spoiled, was sitting in church. It was crazy sitting there, actually listening to the speakers without any little people climbing all over me and crying and fighting with their brother. Very strange.
So here I sit, hopefully my little guys should be here any second. My fingers are crossed. Oh yeah, in the hurry to get packed and out I forgot to pack the camera, so sadly we have no pictures of the weekend.
