Hunting

I decided to take the kids to the city Easter Egg hunt.  We have never been before and figured we'd give it  a try even though we've heard it's super crowded.

There definitely were a lot of people there.  I prepped the kids and told them we were just there to have fun even if they didn't get many eggs.  Here they are before the hunt, I was getting a little frustrated because the punks wouldn't look at me and let me get a decent picture of the three of them.

Look how many eggs were in that field.  It was so crazy how quickly they got picked up.

They had different age divisions so the boys were in one and Lana in another.  Branson was conducting baptisms so I was doing the hunt solo.  I told the boys to meet up with me at the baseball diamond then took Lana over to hers.  When they blew the horn she ran out, picked a pretty purple egg, and ran back to me.  I told her to put it in her basket and get some more.  She ran out, got one more and came back.  She told me she was done, that was all she wanted.

We went over to see if we could find the boys.  We spotted Caden pretty quick but not Brecken.  We waited for the people to dissipate but still no Brecken.  So we went over to the baseball diamond and still no Brecken.  But there were two baseball diamonds.  Poor little guy was at the wrong one and very sad.  After the drama they sat down to enjoy their spoils.  Caden had 7 eggs, Brecken 2, and Lana 2.  Caden very graciously shared with his little brother.

We had decided it was a pizza in the park day.  Branson met up with us at the park where the hunt had been.  We picked up some pizza and went to try out a fun new park by the High School.  This place was awesome, it had all kinds of mechanical toys for the kids to climb all over.  Here is Brecken climbing in this giant web filled pyramid.

Later that night we found the boys sitting at the table like this.  Caden had grabbed his scriptures and said he wanted to read a whole page, so Brecken went and got his too.

It makes a parent's heart feel pretty good to find your kids doing something good all on their own!
