Happy General Conference Breakfast

Here's an idea of Breakfast for General Conference Weekend.

Ooey, Gooey Buttermilk Syrup on Pancakes
If you haven't had it before, it's to die for. Sticky, sweet, with a caramel flavor.

I got this recipe from my little sis. a few years back.

Buttermilk Syrup:
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. buttermilk*
1/2 c. butter
2 Tbsp corn syrup
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla

Combine the first five ingredients in a pot (a large one or it will boil over). Bring to a boil and cook 7 min stirring constantly. Remove from stove and add vanilla.
*if you don't have buttermilk you can make your own- mix 1 c. milk and 1 Tbsp lemon juice or vinegar, let sit at least 5 min.

This is what the full boil should look like:

What it looks like when it is done:

These two pics of my boys were taken at the same time. Notice the first boys food hasn't been touched yet and the other one is completely done. That is the difference between the two; one eats and the other doesn't.

This is all the leftover we had, half of a pint jar. So, if you have a crowd over be sure to double or triple the recipe (you will need a really, really big pot).
Have a great Conference Weekend everyone!
