Caden's first day of 2nd grade was on August 21st.
What an awesome kid! He was "kind of" excited for school to start. I think we had too much fun this summer camping, boating, and going on trips.
Lana likes to be included in all pictures.
Here he is at school!
Brecken's first day of Kindergarten was the next week on August 28th.
He has been soo excited and soo ready for kindergarten for soo long!
He told me as I was driving him to school, "This is going to be the best day ever!"
With Lana Lou.
All three of my "big kids".
Here he is hanging up his bag.
And heading into class.
Lana's first day of Joy School was a week after that, Sept. 5th.
She has been watching her brothers go to Joy School her whole life and was so excited that it was finally her turn.
When I went to pick her up she got in the car and said, "So mom, don't you want to know what I learned about?" She knows the drill at our house.
It's now the middle of October and we just had Parent/ Teacher Conferences last week. Caden is doing great. He is already reading where they are supposed to be at by the end of the year. He is also on one of the highest spelling lists. Now, if only we can convince him that math is NOT torture...
Brecken's teacher had a glowing report of him as well. She started out by asking us if we have talked about having him skip up to first grade. I told her yes, we had considered it but feel it will be better socially and emotionally to keep him in Kindergarten with his friends and not make him grow up too fast. She said she would start sending him home with 1st grader home work. This boy is truly amazing, he reads at a 2nd grade level and I think he is there with math too. His teacher chuckled and said there was one area for him to improve in- his handwriting. I agreed, and it is already much better.
Lana loves, loves, loves going to Joy School. It is only two days a week and she just can't wait for those two days to come around. She knows how to spell her name but is still working on the writing it part.
I love my kids and am so glad they like school!

Such a cute family, and a smarty-pants family too! It is nice when they like school and you can use that as leverage to get them moving in the morning, "if you don't get moving you're not going to make it, and I'll have to call and tell them you won't be coming this morning."...which always makes him shout "no!!" and gets him moving! I am guessing that in High School, Dillon won't give a rats rear about all that! So, lets enjoy the enthusiasm for now!
yup, it's been said, but those kids are the cutest! I love how excited Brecken is to get into school. afterall, he's knows the whole kindergarten curriculum already...
