To Nana's House We Go

We had a fun trip to Oregon back in the middle of August to visit the fam!

It's a fairly long road trip, about 15 hours.  Here we are taking a little break at one of the many gas stations we visited.

One of the days we were down there we visited the OMSI (oregon museum of science and industry) in Portland.  This place is wicked cool fun!  There was another wing we didn't even discover til right at the end.  The kids loved it, and us big people too.

Then the rest of the kids caught up to join in the fun.

It was tricky to steer but the kids picked up on it pretty quickly.

Before leaving we discovered another building with some cool rooms.  They had a chemistry lab with all kinds of experiments.  Caden was way into this, sadly we only had time for one experiment.  We will be going back next summer!

We also had fun playing at Nana & Grandpa's house.  The kids got out the costume box.  Here is Lana as the lovely Rapunzel.

No trip to Oregon is complete without a day at the beach.  It was actually a warm day, but the water was still icy cold.  

 Lana built a fun sand castle complete with sea shell windows.

Caden was determined to learn how to skim board.  He spent the entire three hours we were at the beach learning to board.

I am SO frustrated with blogger for putting thins one in upside down.  Caden caught on to it by the time we were leaving and was doing good.

It is also tradition to stop at the Tillamook cheese factory for amazing cheese and ice cream!

We had such a fun trip.  We also spent a day swimming in the River down by Aunt Meribeth's house but I was a slacker at taking pictures.  We can't wait to go back next year!
