Thanks for Thanksgiving

I was lucky to get asked to help in Brecken's Kindergarten Thanksgiving party.  I was in charge of bringing a treat so I made these turkey cupcakes.  I let my kids decorate their own the night before and taste test them. For some strange reason they didn't want to eat them and they were super messy.  I was freaking out wondering what to do instead but Branson said they were great and to take them anyway.

I took all the little turkeys and the kindergartners seemed happy with them, phew.

My mother-in-law and I ordered several pies from His Hands Charity this year.  So, the only pie I actually made was the pumpkin.

Thanksgiving day dawned bright and sunny.  While the men were out playing football we women and children went for a walk and ended at one of Grandma's neighbor's playground.

When we got back to the house we finished prepping all the food and Brecken built this little FAMILY out of legos.  I love this guy and am thankful that he is thankful for his family.

Here is the kid table.  We were kind of a small group this year.  Sally and her family live in Texas now.  Jess and Brandon live in California and Morgan and Ari went to visit CA over Thanksgiving break.  So, it was us, the Cases, G&G and Taylor.  We me missed them but still managed to have fun and the kids were excited to play with their cousins.

The adult table.

The night before Grandma made these cute little candy turkeys with the grand-kids.

Grandma had been telling us for a few weeks that she had a suprise for us and specifically the grandchildren.  The day after thanksgiving we finally got to find out what it was.  She had bought tickets for all the kids to Jungle Jim's, a little indoor mini amusement park.  The kids played for hours and for about the last two hours the big kids stayed in the bumper cars.

This was Brecken's journal entry he made at school after the break.
