I was driving to the grocery store last night, all by myself- the boys were staying home with Dad, enjoying a peaceful fifteen minute drive. Our closest grocery store is 15 min. and the closest Wal-mart, target, or anything else is a thirty minute drive.
I started thinking of all the things I love about living out here. I hope I can remember them this morning.
1. Good place to raise kids: not too much traffic, tons of kids in the neighborhood, lots of wild outdoors to roam.
2. Close knit Mom community, we really don't have much else to do out here so we hang out together a lot.
3. Clean air- we don't get the smog that the rest of the wasatch front does.
4. So many resources right in our neighborhood: a dance studio, hair salon, multiple preschools, JOY SCHOOL, etc.
5. Mountains: I love being in our own little valley with mountains that go practically all the way around.
6. Parks: we have one that is only one block away and another that is only two blocks away.
7. Kids: there are so many kids in our sacrament that you can't distinguish my noisy boys from the rest.
8. Kids: my social little Caden has more friends available than he knows what to do with.
9. A jogging path right behind my backyard, which also means no backyard neighbors. I love to jog on it (when I can) and it's a safe place for the boys to ride bikes as they get older.
10. Our driveway is on a sidestreet that is blocked off because it's not finished. I love this because the driveway is a slight hill and the boys like to ride down it into the street and I don't have to worry about cars squishing them.
11. My house: I love it sooo much. Buying our house was up there on my list with getting married and having kids for best day ever! I'm so glad to be out of the apartment scene.
12. Gardening: I love having a garden, I've been thinking about what I want to plant all winter and how to improve it from last year. Also, I'm excited to plant more trees. I added a bunch of flowers, not all succesful, last year such as: daffodil bulbs, dahlias, a lilac tree (that one died, but I'll try again this spring), and some annuals. I can't wait til my flower beds are full to bursting with blooms!
I'm sure there are more and I'll add them as I think of them. The only down side to living out here is the commute and small trees- but trees will grow and the commute is worth it!
