Trying Out Scottish

We tried it out and loved it! A week ago Friday our good friends the Julanders invited us to go to the Scottish festival at Thanksgiving point with them. It's a family tradition for them and they go every year. This was our first time- we weren't quite sure what to expect. The festival turned out to be so fun. We just had to end a little earlier than planned when there was a sudden downpour at about 9 pm.
The boys had to get their pictures as Scottsmen.

There were lots of booths selling cool stuff like kilts and swords and other scottish items. This was our favorite booth though. Homemade Rootbeer! You could pick whichever bottle you wanted and they would fill it up. We came back for several refills, it was so yummy.

A responsible parent:

Most things you had to pay for but there were a few free ones. Here Caden got to dress up as a knight and fight a giant. Miracualously, Caden defeated the giant and left the scene victorious.

After perusing the booths we settled on blankets to watch and listen to some live scottish music. I must say I have never seen so many people in kilts in one place in my life. Here is Caden dancing with the girls. He had so much fun jumping around to the music. I love that the girl's Grandpa hopped right in there and danced for at least two hours with his little princesses. So cute.
It was a great night. I felt culturally refreshed. It's so nice to get out of the house and have some fun!

We loved the picture of Caden beating the Scott. That was funny! That sounds like a fun tradition! We love going to Swiss days in Heber, and Summerfest here in Logan!

I would love to go to something like that! We had a little "culture" at the Shrine circus the other night:)
