Christmas Eve

We had such a nice Christmas Eve this year. Very low key. I did all the shopping the day before so we didn't need to go ANYWHERE the whole day. As a last minute idea I decided to make the boys fleece BYU pajama pants. So, I spent the entire morning sewing. Branson was super Dad and fed and dressed and played with the kids.

I think we started a new tradition this year. We needed cookies for Santa and didn't have any, so as a whole family we made some Christmas sugar cookies. I usually dread making sugar cookies because it just seems like so much work for Mom. With all my guys helping out is was super quick and even fun. Here they are mixing the dry ingredients:
The boys even frosted a few cookies each. This was a little tricky for Brecky. Check out that beautiful sunset behind Caden. We had a good lunch (which I think I also want to keep as tradition) of fajitas. Dinner was our Bethlehem supper: fruits, veggies, cheeses, crackers, and deli meats.

The boys were so excited to finally be done with dinner so they could open their presents. They got their pajama pants, Brans got some slippers and I got socks! Caden was showing me the back of his jammies, so Brecken did too.

Lana seemed to enjoy the evening cuddled up on Daddy's lap.
The next presents we got to open were our ornaments. We usually buy a new ornament for everyone but this year the boys made our ornaments.
The next activity is the nativity story. We use puppets and have songs interspersed. The boys were wearing the little shepherd headbands. They decided they were more like ninjas, so here they are doing ninja poses:
Lastly, we write letters to Santa and stick them in our stockings Lana had a little help with hers from Dad:
Caden had a little help from Dad.
Brecken's is what he said verbatim. Love this guy, he has a crazy sense of humor. No, I did not make Brecken a blanket. For the last week before Christmas he was telling everyone that I was making him one. I think it's because when he would ask me what I want for Christmas I would tell him a quilt frame and then explain that it's so I can make blankets.
Christmas Eve was when Brecken decided that the word PIZZA yelled out randomly is extremely funny. He found this out when he started shouting it out in the middle of the nativity story.

All in all we had a nice Christmas Eve. I really love not having to go anywhere.
