My New Hobby / Obsession

Couponing

I mean come on, who doesn't love getting a bunch of free stuff. It's kind of an addictive adventure trying to find the best deals and get lots of free stuff. Today I went to Walgreens, to get some medicine for Brecken, and got some great steals too. I spent a total of $13.48 for all of the items in the first two pictures below and saved $55.00.

Everything in the picture below was FREE:
The Dove shampoo and conditioner were $1.50 each and the tylenol was $2 each, which if you've been going through that stuff as much as we have this winter is a steal!

I basically coupon at Smiths, Walgreens, Target, and Walmart (Walmart isn't the best ever for couponing but is still cheap). The way I do it is I get 3 copies of the Sunday paper. It comes with coupon books in the ads: Smart Source, P&G, and Red Plum. I save them and then go online to get my great deals lists then I match my coupons to my lists. So you find items on great sales, then add a coupon to the sale price you'll get them from free to super cheap.

For Walmart, Walgreens, and Target I use the website http://www.momsbyheart.net/ . On the right sidebar there is a list of coupon match ups, just click on the store you want to go to and print.

For Smith's I use: http://www.savvyshopperdeals.com/component/option,com_shoppingwizard/Itemid,13/ For Store select Smiths, For Savvy Rank select Great (it will show you Great & WOw items) then hit search. You can just push the plus button next to things you want then print your list.

The next step for me is vital, especially if you are going shopping with children. The night before I go shop I get out my list and get all my coupons cut out and ready. I even write down next to each item on my list how many I will get. (You have to match up how many with how many coupons you have and if they are buy one get one free or things like that). Then I paper clilp my coupons to my list and stick it in my purse. That makes it super easy to shop at the store and at the register.

This sounds like a lot of work, and it does take a few hours prep time each week. I look at it like a stay at home part time job because it saves me between $200 and $300 each month and it's fun.

Here are some deals I got from Target last week: In the first pic these were all stellar deals.

Everything in this second picture cost between $0.00 and $0.24 each. Gotta love that!
If anyone is interested in learning more you can definitely ask. I'm happy to share the couponing fun.

Wow Leah that is awesome! This is something I need to improve on. I would love the pic of us from the paper if you still have it!

Great job!! I love couponing too. I have been doing it for about 5 weeks but I have gotten so many free things.

At first it took me quite a bit longer to get things organized but now I am doing things a lot quicker.
