The Big Day started bright and early. We wanted to open presents and do breakfast with Dad before he left for work. We got the birthday boy up at about 6:45, he was full of yawns.
We had the traditional pancakes with ice cream on top- yummo yummo. Brecken didn't agree. He told us his pancakes were too hard (they were all soggy in syrup and melted ice cream).
I think he was really just too excited about presents to eat his pancakes.
Caden, however, fully enjoyed his breakfast.
Caden had to be right next to Brecken the whole time he was opening presents. He did a good job of not taking over or crying though.
He was so excited about getting these cars. Even though we found his other The King just the day before.
Brecken played with his cars for about an hour solid before he tried out any of his other presents.
Caden helped by trying out his Handy Manny tool belt for him.
Brecken's birthday was puppy dog themed this year so we let him wear his Halloween costume a little early.
He was so funny chasing his tail around just like a real puppy.
Here's the cake. I always have so much fun making Birthday cakes. Brecken was begging to eat it all day. Poor guy had to wait for Dad to come home and eat his dinner first.
And finally, the cake! Or more accurately, the Frosting. He licked it all off, asked for more frosting, and only had about two bites of the actual cake.
